Rhapsody in Blue
Price range: $75.00 through $199.00
What happens when you cross a blue gemstone with a festive string of colorful pennants?
You get a Lazuli Bunting (Passerina amoena), a melodious songbird with a tune that would make Gershwin proud.
While most of us require a stage and a microphone to find our confidence, this exuberant male was belting his song from the top of a pine tree in the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise, Idaho, while graciously posing for me. It is a reminder that some of the world’s most sophisticated performances don’t require an admission fee—just a bit of luck and the awareness to pause and be fully present once in a while.
