Kingdom of Tonga
A South Pacific island nation, Tonga is genuinely one of the most remote locations on our planet. Consisting of 171 islands, only 45 of which are inhabited, it is sparsely populated. The sheltered waters serve as breeding grounds and nurseries for humpback whales. Aside from megabats, also known as flying foxes, there are no endemic land mammals. There are, however, 73 species of birds, including herons, colorful pigeons, and a plethora of seabirds.
