Boise, Idaho

The Boise River, which flows through Boise, Idaho, provides habitat for many different species of flora and fauna. Its location in a valley surrounded by mountains makes it essential to migrating wildlife.

Although the city has grown rapidly in the past few decades, it remains dedicated to preserving its natural spaces. For example, a recent rewilding project conducted by the Golden Eagle Audubon Society, a local Audubon chapter, successfully reestablished native flora along the Boise River that invasive species and neglect had wiped out.

Furthermore, the Idaho Botanical Garden, nestled up against the foothills, provides a critical habitat to pollinators, birds, and other creatures.
