Bearded Iris Fine Art Photography Print tited "Falls and Standards"

Romancing the Iris

Price range: $150.00 through $1,200.00

Imagine yourself as a pollinator, approaching a beguiling entrance framed by a layered tapestry of magenta, violet, and blush-pink velvet. Delicate yellow fronds beckon you closer, promising to tenderly embrace you as you deliriously revel in the riches of golden pollen. Who could resist?

I envisioned such a swoon-worthy viewpoint while photographing this abstract take on a classic bloom at the Idaho Botanical Garden.

Lovelorn bees, eat your hearts out!

  • Location | Date: Idaho Botanical Garden, Boise | May 2024
  • Media:
    •  HIGH-DEFINITION METAL. The sleek, reflective surface showcases the iris’s iridescent petals.
    • POLISHED ACRYLIC. Light refracts through the acrylic layer, creating vibrant 3D brilliance. Internal reflection emphasizes the contrast between the beard, the standards, and the falls.
    • GALLERY-WRAPPED CANVAS. The canvas’s archival texture adds tactile, painterly depth to the flower’s various textures.
    • FINE ART PAPER. This classic option, finished with a professional white mat, offers flexibility for custom framing. The mat increases the dimensions from 12 x 16 inches to 16 x 20 inches.
  • Perspective: A pollinator’s-eye view of one of nature’s most irresistible invitations.
  • Vibe: Dreamy, intimate, vibrant. The scene recalls Georgia O’Keeffe’s flower paintings and would work well in a restful bedroom, an elegant powder room, or a boutique hotel, offering a little petal-deep escape.
