Pretty on Pink
$249.00
If you are nostalgic for 1980s rom-coms or a fan of the Psychedelic Furs, you already get the nod here. If not, do me a favor: close this tab, google them, spend a couple of hours watching and listening, and then return to this page.
In this scene, our protagonist is a fuzzy bumblebee covered in pollen, not an angst-ridden teenager stitching together a prom dress to broadcast an identity. And, unlike Molly Ringwald, this bee did not spend the morning analyzing color wheels to ensure its yellow-and-black stripes popped perfectly against the electric pink petals of the coneflower.
Our hero is simply a pragmatic, hyper-focused worker arriving at a premium, all-you-can-eat nectar buffet, completely oblivious to the fact that it is currently executing a flawless cinematic moment.
Yet, here we are. Nature is supposed to be a brutal, chaotic scramble for survival, but occasionally it slips up and accidentally delivers a high-fashion, perfectly color-blocked masterpiece instead. Pretty on pink, indeed.
